From midday on Sunday the 16th June, the literary mile from Glasthule to Sandycove will be brought alive by Joycean festivities. The village invites everyone who comes on the day to dress up in period costume to truly experience this historical day and go back in time in style. There will be fantastic prizes up for grabs on the day for best costume.
Glasthule and Sandycove boast something for everyone from the fancy frock shops and food emporiums to top wine sellers. The streets will be alive with music, food and a vintage speckle. Make sure to indulge your taste buds with fantastic offerings from Cavistons, Butler’s Pantry, Wine 64 and Weafer & Cooper while local boutiques such as Choice, Soul, Miss E, Halo and Roccoco (12pm and 5pm) will play host to superb fashion shows at Grace & Harvey.
Join Glasthule and Sandycove in celebrating the life of James Joyce and his novel ‘Ulysses’ in this unique festival. Marvel in an environment surrounded by sea and magical Killiney Hill. It’s an experience and a memory that will have you coming back for more. The Sandycove-Glasthule dart station is close by and there is plenty of parking available in the surrounding areas.
